General

  • How is this program different from other online courses?

Unlike other online courses, CLARA Classroom brings a virtual teaching artist into your classroom or remote learning environment. Students can experience sequential, standards-aligned performing arts instruction each week, fully taught by our professional teaching artists.

  • Who is CLARA Classroom for?

CLARA Classroom is designed for students and teachers who have limited to no access to arts education in their school. The content is intended for beginner students as an introduction to the art form but can be enjoyed and utilized by students of all levels and abilities.

  • Can it be used in an Expanded Learning Opportunity Program?

Absolutely! CLARA Classroom can be facilitated by classified support staff for use in before-school or after-school programs.

  • Do I need arts training?

No prior arts experience is necessary. All training and instruction is embedded in the video series. We encourage teachers to learn alongside the students in our courses! It is a great way to learn more about the role arts education can play in your classroom learning.

  • What arts disciplines are offered through CLARA Classroom?

Currently our program includes courses in dance, music, and theatre arts.

  • What can I expect from your dance courses?

Each dance course includes a sequential series of exercises, skills, and techniques combined to build a solid foundation in each style of dance. Students will practice safe and effective warm-up exercises, build coordination, flexibility and balance, and learn a fully choreographed routine.

  • What can I expect from your music courses?

Students will learn basic notation, dynamics, and rhythms with opportunities to write your own music, and learn how to play with others. The courses also offer an introduction to instruments in the percussion family with demonstrations and activities to make your own instruments at home or in the classroom.

  • What can I expect from your theater courses?

Students will learn a wide range of improvisation-based theatre games that can be played alone, with a partner, or with a group. The games build focus, creativity, and connection among students to build a classroom culture of trust and respect.

  • What is the refund policy?

We want you to be happy! If you are not 100% satisfied after completing the course, you may request a full enrollment refund. Refunds only available for the duration of your active membership -- refunds cannot be offered after your annual membership has ended.
